When Ring of Honor debuts on national television for the first time, via the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, on September 24th, a new era will commence. The current top talent, such as ROH World Champion Davey Richards, Roderick Strong, Eddie Edwards, among others, will be paving the way through this new and exciting era, while setting a new standard. However, the future of the company will also be looking to make their mark, as well.
KYLE O’REILLY
O’Reilly made his wrestling debut in 2005. After a few years working various independent promotions, he began wrestling for Ring of Honor in 2009. He was officially signed to the company in fall of 2010, and quickly teamed up with fellow newcomer, Adam Cole. The two have since risen through the tag team rank. They’ve had notably series with the All Night Xpress and Bravado Brothers, and recently this year, earned a future shot for the ROH Tag Team Championships.
He has a hard-hitting, MMA style, utilizing numerous kicks and submissions. Being the training partner of current ROH World Champion, Davey Richards, has also certainly added to his repertoire. O’Reilly also isn’t afraid to take the air, and his “hunger” and determination always shine through during matches.
ADAM COLE
This is the guy I just mentioned….he began wrestling for ROH in 2009, and was finally signed to a contract in August of 2010. He soon paired up with fellow newcomer, and the guy I just profiled, Kyle
O’Reilly. Since then, the team have been ascending through the tag team division, earning a future tag title match, recently this year.
Prior to working for Ring of Honor, Cole started his career in 2009, and worked in various independent promotions.
Cole’s style is based on his natural athleticism, thus he utilizes several explosive maneuvers, including a variety of kicks, suplexes, and dives.
While Kyle O’Reilly are a team just beginning their careers in Ring of Honor, the following team have finally seemed to come into their own, and are in full swing, chasing the gold. They are the team of the All Night Express, comprised of Rhett Titus and Kenny King.
RHETT TITUS
Rhett debuted in Ring of Honor in 2006, after completing his training at their Academy. He began his training with then head trainer, Austin Aries, at the age of 17, and would later be trained Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), who took over for Aries.
Titus would go on to become the final winner of ROH’s Top of the Class Trophy, His most notable singles feud was against Delirious, over Daizee Haze. In 2009, he would begin teaming with Kenny King, as the All-Night Express.
His gimmick was that of a brash ladies man. He would spend quite a bit of time trying to impress the women in the audience, even going as far to pass out hotel key rooms during his entrance. However, in 2010, Titus would became more serious about capturing the ROH World Tag Team Championships, with King, and has since toned down his “Addicted to Love” gimmick.
On a side-note, Rhett Titus reminds me of Edge.
KENNY KING
King was trained by Al Snow, Chavo Guererro, Ivory, and Bob Holly, during the second season of Tough Enough. After not winning the competition, he began competing on
the independent scene, and in 2005 began working for TNA. However, in his year with TNA, he was only used as enhancement talent (Jobber).He would begin working for Ring of Honor in 2007, and after a couple years working as a singles star, and in a group known as the YRR, would begin teaming with Rhett Titus.The All Night Express are currently entrenched in a feud with the Briscoe Brothers, in their pursuit of tag team gold.
King’s greatest weapon is his amazing athleticism. He’s also quite strong, unleashing high-impact maneuvers.Many fans have compared him to Shelton Benjamin, though he and Titus have worked to prove that they are not like Benjamin and Charlie Haas.
The previous four guys are working through the tag team ranks; the next talent is carving his own singles career…
MIKE BENNETT
The self-proclaimed “Prodigy” utilizes power and brutality in the ring, while combining natural athleticism and speed. He also utilizes the services of manager, “Brutal” Bob Evans. While a good in-ring competitor, one of his best strengths is his charisma and mic work.
Bennett earned a ROH Television title shot in earlier in the year against Christopher. However, after his arch-rival Steve Corino prevented “Brutal” Bob from assisting him at ringside, Bennett would lose the match.
With his sights on the Television Championship, along with his quick push as one of the top future talents in the company, Bennett definitely has a great future ahead of him.

Mike Bennett is really awesome. My favorite ROH star is Davey Richards, he is a phenomenal wrestler.
Anyway, it won’t be airing in Ireland, I couldn’t find any channels anyway. But I still got a way to watch it so it’s cool!

I don’t watch much RoH, but I know Rhett Titus is good. My favourites are Delirious who has one of the best characters ever; and El Generico who is by far one of the two best wrestlers in RoH and one of the best in the world
They also have one of the best referees in the world: Bryce Remsburg, plus some of the best female wrestlers in America like Sara del Rey. There are quite a few wrestlers I know because of Chikara, so although I don’t watch much I’ve seen quite a lot compete

I think you may have answered that. She’s a wrestler, not some little blond bimbo. I know they’ve started so change slightly since hiring Awesome Kong, but even then Kong was a much more well known wrestler than Sara. She recently had a match against Claudio Castagnoli in Chikara, and it was awesome, plus she won

Yea, your’re probably right. Sad thing is, WWE do have some good women wrestlers. But, WWE will always have a crappy models division. They may as well just call it models division.

Sara del Ray is my favorite women’s wrestler, and a really big inspiration to me. It’s F’d up that WWE skips over the talented for models who have no idea about anything in the business.

I’d sort of rather Sara stay in the indies so she can compete against great male and female wrestlers; rather than go to WWE where she’d be against models. It’s all up to her, but there are people I don’t want to see get underutilised or destroyed by WWE, like Mistico going there was a huge mistake on all parties behalf, and Kong’s run could go a similar route of her credibility getting killed. I mean, I’ve lost some respect for Beth Phoenix for changing to a very bimbo-like wrestling attire, and anyone losing to Kelly Kelly (Barbie Blank) is stupid. I can tolerate people beating those who are better than them, but not when people who can’t wrestle beat some of the best in the company

Yeah, sending a great indie star to the WWE is risky, but I believe they deserve to be on the grand stage, and say they accomplished their dream. Though, like you said, it’s up to them. However, it’s not like the indies are going anywhere; a wrestler could try WWE, and if it didn’t work out, could just go back with more name recognition.

Back on the subject of RoH guys to wath out for: R.D. Evans. Now I really don’t like him, but I’ll admit he’s incredibly charismatic, and pretty funny. At least he is a Archibald Peck, and he’s pretty young still. The Briscoes are a pretty good tag-team as well, and Grizzly Redwood is…interesting. Obviously, Steen, Richards and Generico are huge names in the indy scene, as is Colt Cabana, then there is (at least for now) Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli.
There are a lot of great wrestlers in RoH, and in the future I can see it become the 2nd biggest wrestling promotion after WWE, because honestly TNA is utter garbage

I wouldn’t be surprised if ROH does surpass TNA. I honestly tried watching TNA, but I just can’t. Everything there is just out of place, mixed up. What the hell is happening there, I don’t know. I hear they put on good PPV’s, though.

I honestly wanna see Jimmy Jacobs feud with Davey Richards. Jacobs isn’t as good in the ring as a Richards, or an Edwards, or a Strong, but he has solid skills on the microphone and he knows how to draw a reaction from the crowd. I think pitting him against Richards in a good feud can bring out some character in Davey–because quite frankly, Richards is boring as hell in promos when he isn’t outright pissed off. And when he is, he kinda goes into the “cheesy action movie” kind of dialogue.

I’ve been trying to get into watching ROH… but I just can’t. It seems like theatrics and smarmy comedy. Kind of like nothing I’ve seen has heat or intensity. Just good hearted politeness…. for the fans. Granted I haven’t seen everything, nor am I a fan. But I’m trying, I just fail to see what everyone buzzes about. Maybe its just me or the fact I haven’t seen much of it.

I’ve only been a fan of ROH for a couple years. While I believe they’re the most balanced wrestling company, they do need to work on the entertainment aspect . They mostly focus on the wrestling, which is great, but if they want to get bigger they must embrace both.

I know they focus on wrestling, which is great. But all the matches I’ve seen had no intensity to them. Kind of like they’re not trying to win, its just all a ballet of beautiful wrestling. There’s no heat or fire in their wrestling… at least the limited things that I’ve seen… but I haven’t seen their 1 hour barn burners.
