Hello everyone, welcome to another edition of A RAW Opinion, I’m Joe and as always, I’ll be giving you a recap of WWE Raw, along with my opinion.  Before we begin, let me just say I have some pretty high hopes for tonights episode, especially after what happened going off the air last week with CM Punk, Mick Foley and John Laurinaitis.  Also tonight will be Chris Jericho hosting “The Highlight Reel” I doubt that actually happens but we’ll see.

Show starts off with the WWE Champion CM Punk coming out to the ring, CM Punk gets a microphone and talks about his Royal Rumble match against Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk runs down John Laurinaitis again, he talks about how he can keep Laurinaitis from refereeing the match, he says he could break both of his arms so he can’t ref the match, Punk wants him to go out there and tell Punk to his face that he’s going to screw him Sunday.  He doesn’t show up and Punk is about to go backstage to look for him, John Cena comes out as Punk is still in the ring Cena says he wants Laurinaitis to come out to the ring and give Zack Ryder a rematch, and he wants a match with Kane tonight, he then says he wants him to resign as interim GM of Raw.  John Laurinaitis comes out and Punk and Laurinaitis go back and forth, he wants him to get in the ring but he won’t, Laurinaitis books Ryder VS Kane tonight in a Falls Count Anywhere match, if Cena gets involved Ryder will never get a rematch for the US Title.  He announces Cena and Punk will team up to face Ziggler and Swagger in the first match of the night.

Punk and Cena VS Ziggler and Swagger had a pretty good match, it had some really good length as well, about 10 minutes, the match ends with Laurinaitis costing CM Punk another match, distracting him, allowing Ziggler to get the pin with a roll up and a hold of the tights.  CM Punk challenges Laurinaitis to a match later tonight, Laurinaitis accepts.

Chris Jericho walking down the hallway, headed to the ring for The Highlight Reel.  He plays the crowd for a bit, leaves the ring and goes to the back, he comes back out with one of those T Shirt cannons, he doesn’t shoot one off.  He points to his “Jeri-tron” and it shows a video highlighting his WWE career.  We come back live, HE SPEAKS!  His words “This Sunday at the Royal Rumble, it will be the end of the world as you know it.”  I won’t bash it completely since he finally said something, I just wish it was more then a sentence.  I thought 1/2/12 was the end of the world as we know it?  Jericho is only about 4 weeks late I guess.

Video package for the Royal Rumble, same package that airs every year, talking about the numbers.  Thought it was interesting the video mentioned 2 men have won the Rumble match after entering #1, indirectly referencing Benoit.

Falls Count Anywhere match between Zack Ryder and Kane is coming up next.  Kane absolutely decimates Ryder early on, Eve comes out to ringside, Kane continues the beating after commercial break, Ryder hit Kane with a briefcase but didn’t do much, Kane continued the beating.  Ryder kicked out a few times, Ryder made another attempt at offense but Kane choke slammed Ryder through the stage!  Kane turned his attention to Eve and stalked after her, Cena showed up at the top of the ramp and Kane left through the crowd.  After commercial they were putting Zack on a stretcher, Eve told Cena this was all his fault, she got in the ambulance with Zack and it drove off, Josh Matthews tried getting a word from Cena, Cena knocked the microphone away from him and just stared at the camera looking pissed.  I thought it was a good segment, despite my boy getting his ass kicked, again.

Jinder Mahal in the ring to go against Sheamus, for match #500 of their feud, and I still couldn’t care less.  Wade Barrett comes down to ringside to do commentary during the match, Sheamus turns his attention toward Barrett allowing Mahal to get the advantage, Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick for the win.  Afterward Sheamus wants Barrett in the ring, Barrett walks off.

Miz is backstage giving an interview about his match with R Truth.  R Truth interrupts and makes fun of Miz.  John Laurinaitis and David Otunga interrupt them, Laurinaitis says that whoever loses tonight between Miz and Truth will enter at #1 in the Royal Rumble.

Somebody call my mama!  Brodus Clay is out next, his victim, I mean, opponent for tonight is Heath Slater.  Match is over in about 2 minutes, Brodus Clay wins.  Brodus Clay even makes squash matches enjoyable.  You can tell he’s having a blast with this gimmick.

Next is The Miz VS R Truth, loser will be the #1 entrant in the Royal Rumble match.  Pretty good match, sadly the crowd didn’t seem into it at all, they’ve been pretty silent all night though, other then a few spots during the show.  Truth gets the win, pretty surprised about that.

An update on Zack Ryder, Jerry Lawler says he has a “broken back” after what happened between him and Kane.

John Laurinaitis is backstage with David Otunga, Otunga gives him a fax, he read it and didn’t look to happy about it.

CM Punk VS John Laurinaitis is next, Laurinaitis comes out with a fax from the board of directors, Otunga reads it, the board of directors has concerns about him being the Raw GM, his status of interim Raw GM is under review.  John Laurinaitis apologizes to everyone, saying the fax was a wakeup call.  Laurinaitis says the match won’t happen but has a suitable replacement, Otunga attacks him, Punk locks him in the Anaconda Vise.  Punk turns his attention to Laurinaitis again, he tries shaking Punks hand, Punk delivers  GTS!  Dolph Ziggler attacks Punk from behind, the show ends with Punk on the ground.  I thought the segment was pretty good, it sets up the PPV this Sunday.

My thoughts about tonights show, I want to know why the hell WWE decided to go with a broken back angle for Ryder, I think it could have been done differently.  I honestly hope I don’t wake up in the morning and see a report saying Ryder failed a wellness policy test.

Brodus Clay, entertaining once again, I really love how he’s taking to this gimmick, he looks like he’s having a lot of fun out there.  Miz I think might need a face turn, he’s been on a downward spiral since WrestleMania 27 and he needs something new, a fresh start.  I can’t wait to see what happens next with Cena and Kane, my opinion, Kane is going to get his ass handed to him at Royal Rumble.

That’s it for this weeks RAW Opinion, thank you for reading, leave some comments and let me know what you thought.
