This week I’ve decided to try a TNA version of “Remember When.” I know, I’m not too crazy about it either, but please bear with me.
Do you remember when Macho Man Randy Savage was in TNA?
It was back in late 2004 during an episode of Impact. It was an X-Division match up and during it, the Kings of Wrestling (Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash) came in and cause a DQ finish. I know some of you were thinking of the Chris Hero/Claudio Castagnoli version, but this is TNA folks.
During the beat down Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles came down with a special surprise for the KOW. That surprise turned out to be none other the Macho Man. He came down to proclaim himself, Hardy, and Styles taking on the KOW at the next PPV which was “Turning Point”
The night of “Turning Point” came upon us and Savage was nowhere to be found. When the match came on it turned into a 3 on 2 Handicap match. Savage made a “shocking” appearance to even the odds for his partners. He was in there for about under a minute before getting the win on Jarrett for his team.
This turned out to be the last Televised Wrestling match in Savage’s career before passing away back May 2011.
I heard somewhere that plans were to have Savage and Jarrett at “Turning Point” for NWA Title and Savage would win the belt and drop it back to Jarrett at the next PPV but due to Savage’s health issues, plans were changed to a six man tag.
Thanks for reading. Let me know what you guys think. I’m thinking of doing a TNA “Remember When” at least once a month. What do you think?
Here’s Savage’s first appearance in TNA
Here’s the last Televised match in Savage’s career.
I’m afraid I rarely watched TNA in 2004. It’s really only this year and last year I started watching it. So I don’t remember when 😦

haha, BTW sorry I had to put you through that horrible writing.
TNA is not bad, they have good points like their interaction with their fans at every show they do. The booking is just not creative for the most part. They have great wrestler’s like Styles, Joe, Aires etc.. Fantastic tag, diva and X division. It’s just the BOOKING!

I remember this story and I remember reading all the controversy around it. I really wish this would have worked out well as I think it would have brought back some confidence to him.

10 years of TNA and they are still no further forward. Think hiw much WCW did in even less time. That being said I ALWAYS enjoyed the old timers cameos in TNA
