Welcome to another edition of A RAW Opinion, tonights WWE Raw episode is being hyped HUGE as we have the return of The Ro… Dwayne Johnson! I’m not even going to try and be unbiased, I’m not a fan of Dwayne anymore, I think he thinks we’re dumb don’t know any better, not to mention I think he’s a hypocrite, anyway I digress, Dwayne showing up tonight on Raw has been promoted more then almost anything else, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if only the WWE spent an 8th of the time they spend hyping Dwayne, on a young talent, but I guess that’s too hard to do.
First match of the night is CM Punk VS Daniel Bryan. CM Punk in the ring first, Chris Jericho comes out and goes to the ring, Jericho said he liked Punk and respects his ability, but he’s not as good as Jericho. GREAT promo by these two, hyping up WrestleMania amazingly, both men ripping on each other. Daniel Bryan finally came to the ring for the match, he attacked Punk as Punk was busy with John Laurinaitis. Too many commercials already, two commercials in a span of 5 minutes or so. I didn’t like how the match ended, Otunga got on the apron, Santino took him out, Teddy Long, Laurinaitis, Santino and Otunga all yelled at each other, Daniel Bryan went to leave and Sheamus threw him in the ring, Punk hit the GTS but Laurinaitis called for the bell, I guess it was a DQ? Punk was going to the back when Jericho attacked him from behind. With everything going on at once, I usually refer to this as “Vince Russo school of booking”
Pretty good video montage about HHH/Taker at WrestleMania, a bunch of the wrestlers were talking about it, I wasn’t really a big fan of having the guys speak about it to hype it up, but it was a good segment nonetheless.
Kelly Kelly VS Nikki Bella up next. Kelly gets the win in a short match, typical Raw divas match.
Dwayne Johnson hype video before and after commercial, enough already.
John Cena comes out to the ring for his match with Miz. Miz came out with a microphone, angry he isn’t being included at WrestleMania. Cena makes Miz tap out with the STF, pretty decent match.
Tag Team Title match up next. R Truth and Kofi Kingston VS Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger VS Epico & Primo. Epico and Primo win in a really good match, afterward Kane came down and beat down everyone.
John Laurinaitis is talking with Otunga, Teddy interrupts them, pointless segment. Teddy said rumor is John won’t be running Raw next week, John said something about Long being fired, Teddy called him a horses ass and left.
Eve comes out to the ring to talk. Pretty damn good promo, she’s so much better as a heel then as a face, not to mention, for some reason she looks so much hotter as a heel.
Kelly confronts Eve backstage about her attitude, Eve just laughs at her and walks off.
Tag Team match up next between Big Show & Sheamus VS Mark Henry & Cody Rhodes, yay… Cody provoked Show with a video showing him being beaten up by Floyd Mayweather, match gets under way, Cody had Big show’s attention the entire time, Sheamus tagged himself in and hit a Brogue Kick on Henry for the win. Very pointless match.
Video shown from last week, showing Cenas promo absolutely roasting Dwayne.
Dwayne Johnson comes out from the back toward the ring while all the fans do the “cool thing” and cheer like crazy, Dwayne says the whole “Finally” shtick, he goes on to kiss the fans ass saying if it wasn’t for the WWE or the fans, he wouldn’t be where he is now. This promo really wasn’t good, at all, Rock had crowd reaction big time, but he just rambled on and on about nothing really. Cena finally came out, and I think owned Dwayne big time, John left and Dwayne went back to rambling about Cena. To steal a line from R Truth, Dwayne got GOT! Oh and Golden boy Dwayne Johnson, had a cheat sheet written on his wrist, which Cena called him out on. Dwayne never looked too comfortable afterward, great job by Cena putting him in his place yet another week, I can’t wait until WrestleMania to see what happens. (Hopefully a John Cena victory) Damn I hate rooting for Cena but this is one time I really have too.
I thought this show was very good. Punk and Jerichos back and forth was GREAT! John Cena putting Dwayne in his place was definitely the highlight of the show for me, Punk and Jericho a very close second. I’m giving this weeks episode a 4/5 for those two parts alone, those segments really made Raw great tonight, and I can’t wait to see what comes up next week, great job hyping WrestleMania, and I don’t know what’s up with Dwayne, but he better step his game up in the promo department, because Cena is aiming for the jugular and making him look BAD.
That’s all for this week, I hope you enjoyed reading the column, let me know what you thought about the show and the column in the comments, thanks for reading.
I did like the cheat sheet call out as well.

The Jericho/Punk and Rock/Cena segments were excellent!!!!!!!! That’s the way you build a Wrestlemania main event. I also felt the three-way tag match was awesome and all the guys in there had great chemistry with one another. It was too bad that Kane had to come out and kill their momentum. Lol.
I was even intrigued by the Long/Laurinaitis angle and felt Eve was terrific in her new role. She can defintely play the role of the attractive manipulative woman. All in all, this was the best Raw of the year and I’m sure they will only get better heading into Mania (I can only hope).

Glad there was much more to Raw than just The Rock. Him and Cena might put on a decent match if they hate each other enough. The cheat sheet wrote on the hand was ridiculous though…this has to be the first time in history The Rock needs notes for a wrestling promo?
The whole John Laurinaitis vs. Teddy Long is really stupid to me, as I’d rather not see either of them as GM of anything. Long is OK for Smackdown I guess…but Raw needs someone who’s going to be permanent for a while who actually will retain authority and respect. Like Jack Tunney. lol! I say bring in J.R. for Raw GM.

I loved the teg team three way…seems really undderrated to me.
Rock vs Cena i’m sorry but it needs to be more real, about the match! There just calling eachother random crap, if you know what I mean. Only Cena is trying to reference the match.

Yes, it’s getting like a playground fight. But it’s going to get more real, hopefully.

Absolutely, agree 110% Rock is out there for 30 minutes talking about things trending on Twitter, making very few mentions of WrestleMania, at least Cena tried getting it back on track. Is it just me or did Rock look legit butt-hurt when Cena mentioned his little cheat sheet? #NotesToWrist

I get the feeling that Otunga is going to turn face and join Santino in a team called Santin-O-tunga.

That wouldn’t actually be a bad idea, lol.
Are you feeling any better, Capt.?

The pain level is so much better, but I just took the last of my major pills for it and I don’t know how hong they will last. It sucks, because I can’t drive, my leg is going out from under me, and I just don’t know what to expect. I won’t be on as much anyway, but I might have to quit for a bit just like last time.

I loved The Rock’s promo. He made Cena look bad. I think Cena is the only one who thought The Rock literally meant he was back in the WWE full-time. The Rock doesn’t have to return at all…he had his run in the WWE and it was time to move on to his next challenge. There’s no reason why Cena needs to be arguing about The Rock’s loyalty. The Rock had a good WWE career and his WWE career was about the same length as Mick Foley and Stone Cold. The Rock had every right to leave the WWE. What was left to accomplish?
The only reason Cena keeps bringing up The Rock’s loyalty to the WWE is because that is the only thing Cena can claim he’s better than The Rock at and that’s not even true because The Rock did everything John Cena is doing right now. The Rock was a full-time WWE Superstar just like Cena. He left at a young age but that’s because he started at a very young age.

Cena didn’t think Rock was coming back full time. His original beef was how Rock kept telling people how much he loved the business and never showed up…even to say, “Hi”.

Missed the Rock/Cena segment; have seen it get mixed reactions.

Rock did so good with his acting, that people thought it was ”real”, I use real as in Cena was REALLY taking a personnel shot at Rock, which he wasn’t; but raised questions. Basically you can say Rock put Cena over more.

Yeah, it takes skill to work smarks and these guys have it.

I’M SO CONFUSEEEEEEEEEEED ABOUT WHAT WAS REAL AND WHAT WASNT. DID THE ROCK PURPOSELY HAVE THE CHEAT SHEET IN ORDER FOR CENA TO TAKE A SHOT ABOUT IT?! The Rock wasn’t on form on Monday, he just didn’t have the right spark about him. He rambled about shit. I’m 55% team bring itand 45% cenation.

This is what I was saying to you, it gets you thinking if this was real. It was just Cena’s turn to get one over on Rock, makes Rock look bad. He does this because he’s a good actor.

TO HELL WITH KAYFABE!! lol, so by Cena getting one over The Rock was that them trying to build him slightly more as the heel? Because we all know Rock’s going to be the fan/crowd favourite on April 1st in Miami.

Nice article J, I have to agree with your words on the Rock at the start of your article. I to am getting sick of him and you can here mine and James’ more detailed thoughts on the Cena/Rock promo on our podcast from Thursday, available on iTunes and Talkshoe (cheap plug :D)
Anyway, to sum up, if I hear whatever words “Trending worldwide” again, I am going to explode. I was watching that with my girlfriend and before the promo, she said if he says anything about Trending or Twitter, I am going to scream. I said, nah he wont, he only went on to bang on about it for 20% of his promo.
I thought his promo was awful, I dont understand why the Rock would agree to have those notes on his hand to “put Cena over”. The Rock has apparently always prided himself on his promo’s. I honestly think he went into that half hearted, he doesnt associate himself with the rest of the roster, he comes in does his bit then leaves so it wouldnt surprise me if he legit had those on his hand. I dont know.
Apparently this whole agreement hasnt even been signed, The Rock himself has said the whole thing is on a handshake agreement with Vince, I mean whats that about?
