WWE Smackdown is in Manchester, New Hampshire this week. Smackdown starts with AJ and AJ walks to the ring. AJ tries to explain why she kissed Kane on RAW last Monday, but she’s interrupted by Vickie Guerrero. Vickie says that everyone is not talking about AJ kissing Kane. They are talking about Dolph Ziggler and after Vickie says that, Ziggler’s music plays. Ziggler says he is going to become the next World Heavyweight Champion and he is not going to let AJ steal his spotlight. AJ says Ziggler is delusional if he thinks he is going to be the World Champion. AJ says that Dolph’s grandma is also delusional and Vickie slaps AJ. Vickie tells AJ to get out of Dolph’s ring and CM Punk’s music plays.

Punk says that nobody has to excuse Vickie because there’s not an excuse in the world to have to listen to her. Punk says that Vickie is always saying how great Dolph is and Dolph never wins a World Championship match. Dolph is not going to defeat Sheamus at No Way Out and he is not win the tag team match against CM Punk and Sheamus tonight. Punk says that Vickie is the Voice of Pointless. Ziggler starts to say that he is the Voice of the next World Heavyweight Champion, but he is interrupted by Daniel Bryan’s music. Daniel Bryan says AJ’s bad luck will help Daniel Bryan become the new WWE Champion if AJ is in Punk’s corner at No Way Out. Daniel Bryan starts chanting “Yes” and he is interrupted by Sheamus’s music. Sheamus says that all Alberto Del Rio’s injury has done is give Sheamus another opportunity to beat Ziggler once again. Sheamus says that everyone is in the ring and he wants the tag team match to start right now. AJ says she has a little bit of old business to take care of and she tries to attack Vickie, but CM Punk stops her.

CM Punk and Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler executed a roll-up pin on Sheamus for a three-count because Vickie was in the ring and that distracted Sheamus. This was a good match, but I was expecting it to be a little bit better. At least the match didn’t end in disqualification. I think this match might have been a little bit more enjoyable if it was the main event. This match should not have been the first match of the night.

Winners: Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler

Rating: **3/4

After the match, AJ attacks Vickie. AJ gets knocked down by Vickie and Vickie escapes. Kane’s music plays and Kane starts to carry AJ to the back. Before Kane can get to the back, CM Punk attacks him. Kane fights back and throws Punk into the ring. Kane chokeslams Punk and Daniel Bryan in the ring. AJ is on the stage and she starts laughing. This Kane-Punk-Bryan-AJ storyline gets more interesting every week. I like it more than the Kane-Cena-Ryder-Eve storyline.

It’s Brodus Clay time. Before Brodus’s opponent comes out, Brodus cuts a promo. Brodus says that John Laurinaitis told him that Brodus Clay’s opponent tonight will put Brodus on his back. That opponent is Heath Slater.

Brodus Clay vs. Heath Slater

Before the match started, Michael Cole announced on commentary that there will be a Blast from the Past every week on RAW. That should be interesting. I hope the WWE brings back legends that haven’t been on WWE TV in a long time like Vader last Monday. I don’t want to see guys like Sgt. Slaughter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and Rowdy Roddy Piper for the 100th time. Brodus won this match like he always does. The match was so quick that Brodus Clay’s post-match celebration was already finished one minute after the match started.

Winner: Brodus Clay

Rating: No Rating (NR)

After the one minute match and post-match celebration, Brodus Clay was attacked by David Otunga. Brodus Clay will face David Otunga during the No Way Out Pre-Show. I doubt the post-match attack will generate more views for the Pre-Show. It’s only a Pre-Show match and it’s not that great of a match-up. One little post-match attack won’t change much. WWE.com reported that Brodus Clay suffered a Grade II medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear in his left knee, but Brodus is still medically cleared to face Otunga this Sunday during the Pre-Show.

Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox

Layla is on commentary during this match. This was a quick Divas match. The only reason there was a Divas match this week was to remind the fans that Beth Phoenix will face Layla at No Way Out.

Winner: Beth Phoenix

Rating: NR

John Laurinaitis is introduced by Lillian Garcia. Johnny says he is sorry that Big Show knocked Vince McMahon out on RAW. Johnny starts talking about all of the times his job has been on the line (WrestleMania and Over the Limit) and Johnny kept his job each time. Johnny’s job is on the line at No Way Out, but not in jeopardy because Johnny is putting his faith in the Big Show. Johnny thinks Big Show will destroy John Cena at No Way Out. Big Show comes out and enters the ring. Big Show talks about not reaching his full potential in WCW and WWE. Big Show guarantees that he will defeat John Cena at No Way Out. Johnny and Big Show leave the ring and Michael Cole says on a microphone that John Cena will be on Smackdown tonight. Big Show says he won’t be hard to find because Big Show will be right here.

Christian vs. Jack Swagger

Christian and Jack Swagger had a good feud in 2009 so it was nice to see them have a match on Smackdown. This match wasn’t as good as the matches in 2009, but it was an enjoyable match. I would have liked the match more if it was a little bit longer.

Winner: Christian

Rating: **

Smackdown advertises that John Cena will call out Big Show later tonight.

Ryback vs. Ari Cohen and Mike Testa

Another jobber handicap match and another win for Ryback. You know what is more impressive than Ryback defeating two jobbers? Ryback defeating three jobbers. It sounded like Ryback was saying “Feed me three” after the match. I would rather see him face Superstars on the WWE roster, but I wouldn’t mind watching Ryback try to do his finishing move while carrying three men. I’m getting bored of the two-on-one Ryback matches.

Winner: Ryback

Rating: NR

Damien Sandow vs. Tyson Kidd

Sandow won this match after hitting Kidd with his neckbreaker finishing move. This was an interesting match with a few good spots, but it was too short. I would like to see Sandow have longer matches.

Winner: Damien Sandow

Rating: *1/4

John Cena arrives at the arena and enters John Laurinaitis’s office, but no one is in there.

After a commercial break, Cena enters the ring. Cena wants to know where Big Show is. John Laurinaitis comes out and tells Cena that Big Show is not here. Johnny sent Big Show home to protect Cena because the Board of Directors said the No Way Out match will happen no matter what. Cena says that if he’s not going to knock out Big Show, then he’s going to knock out Johnny. Laurinaitis says he will fire Cena if Cena touches him. Cena is not worried because Johnny just said the match will happen no matter what so Johnny can’t fire him. Cena says he is embarrassed of Johnny and says that Johnny will be fired if Big Show loses. If Johnny is fired, that means Johnny can’t fire Cena after No Way Out so Cena gets ready to attack Johnny. Before Cena can attack him, Johnny says he will fire Cena if he is still the General Manager on Monday. Cena says that someone will get fired at No Way Out and he punches Johnny. Smackdown ends with a referee checking on Johnny in the ring.

Matches to Watch: CM Punk and Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler, Christian vs. Jack Swagger

Matches to Skip: Brodus Clay vs. Heath Slater, Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox, Ryback vs. Ari Cohen and Mike Testa, Damien Sandow vs. Tyson Kidd

Best Superstar of Smackdown: AJ

No one had a really great performance on Smackdown this week so I’m giving Best Superstar to AJ. She has been one of the biggest reasons why the WWE Championship match at No Way Out will be interesting and no Diva in the WWE is getting more attention than her right now. AJ did a good job this week and has done a very good job during the entire WWE Championship storyline.

Best Moment of Smackdown: Big Show’s promo

There weren’t many great moments on Smackdown. I almost didn’t give out a Best Moment this week, but I changed my mind after hearing Big Show’s promo. It was an interesting story about his stint in WCW and what Vince McMahon told him when Big Show joined the WWE. I’m not sure if it was a shoot or not, but it felt real and that’s the most important thing. Big Show said stuff like he was given the name “Big Show” because Vince wanted him to “put on a show”. He also talked about never being a huge star in WCW because he wasn’t allowed to outshine guys like Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Ric Flair. The story Big Show told may or may not be 100% true, but it was interesting. It made me think that maybe this Big Show really will be different than the Big Show I have been seeing in the WWE since 1999.

I didn’t like Smackdown this week and it was because of John Cena. I don’t think Cena should have been on Smackdown. I treat RAW and Smackdown as separate shows and I didn’t like seeing a RAW storyline as the main event of Smackdown. It was okay that CM Punk was on Smackdown because he is feuding with Daniel Bryan (a Smackdown Superstar) and he was teaming with Sheamus (also a Smackdown Superstar). I understand that Cena was on Smackdown so the WWE could add the extra stipulation to the No Way Out match, but I think they could have done that on RAW or done that on Smackdown without Cena appearing. The tag team match, which should have been the main event this week, was good but I would have liked to see CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler open the show and the main event be Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan.  Smackdown only had two matches worth watching and only one of those matches was good. With Big Show, CM Punk, and John Cena on the show, this week felt like RAW 2.0 featuring the stars of Friday Night Smackdown.
