PWTorch.com reported the following…

Former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista’s MMA debut fight on October 6 will be broadcast on DirecTV PPV, according to a press release issued Thursday. Tickets for the live show in Providence, R.I. go on-sale Friday at 1:00 p.m. through Ticketmaster.com. The price range is $20-250. The press release, which is heavy on hyperbole, including calling Bautista the “most successful professional wrestler of the past decade,” includes comments from Bautista on his MMA debut.

“Fighting MMA is a dream come true,” said Bautista. “I’m very excited to make my debut in Providence with Jimmy Burchfield, who has so much experience putting on fights. CES treats me like family and I can’t wait to make my debut with them. MMA has been my lifelong dream and I’m glad to be able to do it with them on the East Coast.”

Ray’s Opinion
Good to see Batista putting over his opponent for the upcoming fight. This way if he loses, he doesn’t look too bad as he stated Burchfield was an experienced fighter, if he wins, then it makes Batista look good as he defeated an experienced fighter. I know we don’t report MMA here on WR, but I will be writing a couple of Batista columns for his upcoming fight and hopefully people will be interested in reading them. I’m not sure if Batista will win or not as MMA is different from pro wrestling, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Please let me know your thoughts on Batista’s upcoming MMA fight, whether you’re an MMA fan or not.
