There were rumors among the IWC that Devon and Bully Ray’s contract were expiring. We recently heard the news regarding Devon, while Bully Ray also tweeted about his status.
“Devon, whose contract with TNA Wrestling is reportedly set to expire this week, suggested on Twitter Wednesday evening that he’s parting ways with the organization effective immediately.
The TNA Television Champion wrote, “I would like to thank the tna fans for making the last seven years fun . im sure we will see each other again down the road real soon.
“im ready to see where god bring me to next. i cant wait . i see big thing on the way
“o and HELL NO IM NOT RETIRING.”
It would appear that his departure is due to both parties being unable to reach an agreement on a new contract. He re-tweeted a message stating, “I’ll say this you boys deserve what ever you’re asking for plus 25%.”
Bully Ray, whose contract will also expire this week, suggested on Twitter that he will part ways with the organization in October at Bound For Glory, which takes place in Phoenix, Arizona.
“Dont mattah where ya start..mattahs where ya finish. See ya in Phoenix!! STRONGEST THE LONGEST. #BULLYNATION,” he wrote.”

Seth’s Opinion
The Dudleys, as they were formerly called, were on the first episode of IMPACT and were a big part in TNA’s success. Its unfortunate and I don’t expect WWE to have interest, but you never know. I am not sure why contract negotiations did not work out for Devon and Bully Ray. However, as both are entering 40s, perhaps TNA is attempting to stay fresh and young. Then again, both Devon and Bully Ray have been very successful lately. In addition, this will mean the end to Devon’s reign as TNA Television Champion. Who do you think will be the next TNA Television Champion? What are your thoughts on Devon and Bully Ray leaving TNA?

No doubt about the publicity thing. Everyone will all over TNA for a while. I rellay hope it doesn’t go under, because there needs to be somewhere outside of the WWE where wrestlers can get TV time. I would take anything you read on the dirt sheets with a pinch of salt. And TNA already do international tours, so I’m not convinced they’d let their roster disappear on Hogan’s tour. On the plus side, you may get to witness the double tragedy of Hogan vs Flair.

I think the both of them realize nothing more can be done with them in TNA. I think if they went back to WWE it would be awesome for them and us, the fans. There’s so much things they could do with them!

Well at this point in their careers, I don’t know how much they would do in WWE. Could be in an agent backstage role or managerial role

I think WWE may be interested in them as backstage trainers for today’s tag teams, or maybe to put over up and coming teams on air. At their age, this would probably be the best course of action for the pair.

I do watch TNA; partly besuace of the women’s division ahh. thought i was one of few people who did that. lol. its nice to be able to watch women actually get a decent chance out there . unlike a certain company who whore out their women.on the topic though, i’m torn as to how this will affect TNA. it’ll boost them crazy high. and then loyal fans are going to have to sit through the point where it all goes bad and the company destructs. unfortunate . ah well, maybe he’ll provide a few laughs. (and there are the dirtsheet rumors saying that hogan will bring TNA stars to his aussie tour. dont like to read dirtsheets, but that made me laugh so much . and i have tickets. so yeah. it’ll be amusing to see this if this one develops any further or if its just a stupid dirtsheet writer trying to drum up business!).

I hope they don’t go their separate ways, would just be weird.

I reckon they are both WWE bound
WWE will reintroduce them as Tag Team, just for the pop and to mix up the division a bit, maybe get them put of some talent. Then a few weeks/months later Ray will split and fall into his buly character.
That’s how I’d like to see it run out anyway.

I say just have them come back as a face team, because they’d get face pops anyway due to what they have done in this business, plus they’ve been gone for years.

Yeah, that’s what’ll happen and should happen. But Ray has great potential on his own.
