WWE announced the following this morning via their website:
“SmackDown announcer Lilian Garcia is in stable condition at a Los Angeles hospital after being struck by a car on Friday afternoon.
Garcia suffered multiple contusions and lacerations on the left side of her body, but she is expected to make a full recovery. Doctors have immobilized Garcia’s neck and will be keeping her hospitalized overnight to monitor her.”
Ray’s Opinion
Thankfully her condition is not too serious as she is expected to make a full recovery. The injuries are minor but it is very unlikely she’ll be announcing at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View tomorrow night. My thoughts go out to Lilian and her family and I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
I wouldn’t say it’s very unlikely she will be appearing at Hell in a Cell. The biggest obstacle I think is that she’s in LA and the PPV is on the East coast. From what I read, it sounds she will be released today assuming something unexpected doesn’t happen to her condition. They said she is expected to make a full recovery. I wouldn’t be surprised if she does go to Hell in a Cell because not showing up would make people think her injuries are serious and I know I wouldn’t want people thinking I’m seriously hurt when really I’m at home watching the PPV on TV with only some cuts and bruises. “Multiple contusions and lacerations” equals some bruises and cuts. She’s kept overnight in the hospital just to make sure she doesn’t have any other injury that they haven’t discovered yet. Plus if she doesn’t show up, she doesn’t get paid. I’m sure she gets a bigger pay day for doing PPVs vs. Smackdown shows.

It’s odd. I just saw my first live car wreck last night while coming home from he movies. Somebody drove into the telephone pole. The airbag went off so I hope they’re ok.
