Monday’s WWE Raw drew a 2.94 rating, up from a 2.48 rating the week before. Raw averaged 4.1 million viewers for the three-hour show, up from the 3.5 million the show averaged last week.
- The first hour drew 4.306 million viewers
- The second hour drew 4.217 million viewers
- The final hour crashed with 3.783 million viewers.
This just proves that the third hour of Raw is too much for a lot of viewers. WWE have done nothing productive with the extra hour the USA network have granted them. The only aspect that has improved since Raw went 3 hours is the tag team division. However the diva’s division, character development, the WWE championship still isn’t of great importance as it should be, creatively in story telling has not improved at all. WWE are now doing a storyline that TNA just did with AJ Lee and John Cena having an ”affair” with Vickie disposing some ”evidence”. I don’t know where WWE will go with this. Maybe it’s a shot at TNA to show that they’ll to do a better job of telling a story like this? Whatever it is they’re trying to do; it sucks, it’s bland and it’s boring. They are putting together matches like Orton vs Barrett which just doesn’t seem right. Ever since Barrett came back, he hasn’t been build up properly again and therefore he’s not a threat to Orton. Why not build him up then put him in the ring with Orton at a Pay-Per-View or something? Their mid-card titles are a joke. They’re jobbers to main eventers. Example? The Miz (when he was IC champion) getting destroyed by Ryback. WWE have been putting on random matches that makes no sense storyline wise. That’s not how you improve a product. It’s like Vince McMahon forgot how to book a show. Nothing seems to be making sense and the whole show is lacking creativity.
I think WWE will be happy with that rating because they’re not using the extra hour efficiently. It’s going to get worse and worse if WWE does not pull themselves together.
Do you agree with me? What do you think WWE need to know to improve Raw? I’d love to know your thoughts and opinions so please leave them below. Thanks for reading.

I knew WWE wouldn’t use the 3rd hour properly. It’s become impossible to sit through a full show. The blame lies with Vince. He has final say on everything and the only reason we got a tag team devision is because of Triple H. The titles mean nothing. They have been passed around far too much. The only way Raw will get better is to start by going back to 2 hours but will Vince’s ego let him make that decision.

I think that depends on how much WWE are getting for another hour of programming from USA. In the short run WWE will be okay but in the long run they are fucked IMO. I can’t watch it in one go, I watch it throughout the day in parts from sky + and skip a good bit of it too.

Same here. Thank fuck for Sky+. God’s greatest creation, lol.

I’m with you on that! lol. Before I used to tape them, then I recorded them on DVD. Now I just press a button. It’s so handy.

I think it improved, because there was no debate and it would’ve been higher if not for Hurricane Sandy.

It did improve but it’s hour 3 that is the problem. And WWE don’t seem to be improving in much other than the tag division. What frustrates me most is that I know WWE can do better.

Will Vince allow it to do better?
I don’t think the extra hour is the problem. Kids are going to bed at around the third hour. In the past, this wasn’t a big deal, because fewer kids were part of the WWE’s audience. Plus, MNF usually gets better in tha thour as well. That’s when the game enters the second half and you are mor elikely to see big plays.

Well that’s the thing. It’s well known that Vince is out of touch with reality and that’s affecting WWE big time.

Vince is out of touch and people’s viewing habits have changed. It’s a bad combo. I think this is just the new “normal”.

One thing they could do is not spend so much time on video recaps.

Yeah, it’s getting ridiculous the amount of recaps and stuff they air.

They need to just have a recap show on youtube.

The recaps are just stupid. They show things that happened just an hour ago. Vince must think the fans are all morons not to remember what happen one hour ago.

I think the problem is too many people are tuning out/in throughout the show and WWE’s theory is probably they don’t want any fans missing any of Raw’s ”action”.

Good point.

but that is a catch 22 because fans know that if they miss anything they will get to see it 3 more times before the night is over. Supply and demand. dont do recaps and fans will know they have to watch to see what happens, other shows don’t do recaps like that, you have to wait until the next show to see “last week on…”

That wouldn’t work, because they can just check the net.

Yes, I agree. If WWE put out must see television people WILL tune in not to miss anything.
Thats like a low of economics; supply and demand.

I don’t agree. Certain people like/dislike certain things. You are never going to get a whole show where roughly everybody tunes in and is interested in each segment. Those days are long gone.
