I like Bret Hart a lot. To be honest I respect him more than anyone else in the wrestling business. His views do seem pretty harsh sometimes but I hugely respect everything he says.
I respect that but to me he comes across as being grumpy and bitter. There is no reason for him, at this stage in his life after wrestling, to say stuff like that. The way he comes across is just bashing for no reason, like is that needed?
The way he compares Bryan (an IWC darling) to his brother Owen is for reassurance from the fans IMO. Even what he says about Punk as well. He says it in a way he won’t get buried by the fans. I just don’t see why he would cause controversy from nothing.
I do respect Hart and all but IMO HHH has done more for wrestling than Hart ever could have.
No way, HHH has done nothing for wrestling in his whole life! The only reason he is where he is, is because he’s married to Stephanie. Before they got together he was an ok wrestler at best and actually never improved he just got title shots because who he was with. The Hitman on the other hand done so much for wrestling, more than most wrestlers. In my opinion.
I actually only started my site to develop my writing a bit more, my main objective was to begin writing for another site, and one as good as Wrestling Rambles is amazing
You know I have been thinking about it a little more and I withdraw my earlier statement that HHH has done nothing for wrestling. I do still think Bret Hart has done more and respect him hugely but I was overlooking that HHH put over Batista at Wrestlemania, which launched Batista’s career, he done the same thing for Cena a year later and gave Cena one of the greatest matches of his life! And I guess I was really overlooking the help he has given people over the years. But he is still not a great wrestler, but I was just getting heated before because Bret Hart is one of my heroes.
Thanks, I just think Bret Hart was a phenomenal wrestler with great technical ability. He knew how to sell, how to work a match and was huge draw. I don’t think he really gets the credit he deserves.
Triple H is a legend and has had more great matches in his career than Bret Hart. To say HHH v Undertaker last year at Wrestlemania was only 4 out of 10 is an absolute joke. It was the best match that night. Bret Hart is so overrated. He is the most bitter wrestler ever and probably won’t be seen on WWE TV for awhile after what he said about HHH.
Yeah that was a great match. Hart talks about it not being ‘special’ but it’s not like his moveset is original! IDK if he’s overrated because he has had some great matches.
Hart/Bulldog – Summerslam 92
Hart/Perfect – KOTR 93 or the all three of his matches that night.
Hart/Piper – WM 8
Hart/Michaels – WMXII
Hart/Benoit – Owen Memorial Match
Hart/Austin – WM13.
Hart/Diesel – Survive Series ’95
Hart/Mr. Perfect – Summerslam ’91
Hart Foundation/Demolition 2 out of 3 falls – Summerslam ’90
Hart/Owen – WM 10 and Summerslam ’94
Hart/Micheals – Survivor Series ’92
Hart/Austin Survivor Series ’96
But I can remember more HHH matches compared to Hart anyway!
Hart has many good matches, but none of his matches are really great in my opinion. I think the only Bret Hart match I liked a lot was his SummerSlam match against Undertaker. That’s the only match of his that isn’t overrated.
Any decent match HHH has ever had he has been carried. Taker carried him there whole match and made him look good. HHH is one of the mos overrated wrestlers ever.
I understand that but Triple H to me comes across as one of the hardest working wrestlers back there. In any wrestling book I’ve read all have said they respect the hell out of Triple H. He seems to be a loyal friend as well (in Jericho and HBK’s book). In Batista’s book it showed how he helped evaluate Batista’s career. Mick Foley and Edge all had good words to say about him too. I’m only saying this because a lot of the wrestlers do WWE/TNA purely for the money but if there’s a few guys who REALLY respect the business is Triple, along with Taker, Foley, HBK etc..
I read mixed reactions about Triple H. Some people say he is very hard working and really cares about the business and others say Triple H only married Stephanie McMahon so he could become the top guy and would tear up scripts that didn’t have him going over and stuff like that. In my opinion, I don’t think I believe the argument about Triple H being selfish because if he was, I think he’d put the title back on him and he hasn’t been champion since WrestleMania 25 in 2009. Maybe he did care about himself more than others in the past, but now I think he cares more about getting other people over.
But the argument ”he only married Stephanie” to get to the top is invalid. He worked his ass off to get to the top. I always thought HHH got people over rather than being selfish anyway.
In terms of wrestling, as it’s not a ‘competitive’ sport, it just means under-appreciated or people think ”what’s the big deal with that guy”. I think they are terms that are overused.

Okay fair enough. I just don’t see how much more ‘special’ Bret is compared to HHH. Like what do you see more in Bret compared to HHH?
BTW I have your column and will publish it by tomorrow sometime!

Bret Hart had a great match against Tiger Mask II back in 1990 (?) for a Puro spin on this!
Triple H has had great matches and so has Bret. Hart is just mouthing off, creating a buzz for when he no doubt returns to hype his next DVD.

Ask yourself who is Triple H’s best friend and then you’ll understand why Bret Hart doesn’t like Triple H.
