Hey everybody, I’m back with my top ten wrestling stables of all time. I’ll be honest it was somewhat hard to rate these and put them in order, as there are a ton of factions, past and present in the world of professional wrestling. Please feel free to leave comments as well as feedback. Now on to the countdown.
10: The Corporate Ministry: April 1999-July 1999
Members: Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, The Undertaker, Triple H, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Big Bossman, Mideon, Viscera, The Mean Street Posse, Chyna, Paul Bearer
The Corporate Ministry was a dominating force back in the spring and summer of 1999. The Corporation led by the head honcho himself Vince McMahon and his son Shane O Mac, joined forces with The Undertaker’s Ministry Of Darkness to form a sinister combination. They set their sights on two of the biggest faces at the time, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Vince and Shane were up to their usual antics, trying to find anyway possible to screw the babyfaces as much as they could. I always loved when the McMahon’s were monster heels. Their feuds back in the attitude era with Austin, Rock, DX, Foley, etc., were some of the best in wrestling history. When you throw in The Undertaker, Triple H, Bossman, and The Alcolytes, you’re talking the best brains in the business mixed with a helluva lot of brawn.
Championships:
-
WWE Champion (1 time)- The Undertaker
-
WWE Tag Team Champions (2 times)- The Alcolytes
-
WWE European Champion (2 times)- Shane (1)- Mideon (1)
-
WWE Hardcore Champion (1 time)- Big Bossman
9: Evolution: January 2003-October 2005
Members: Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista, Randy Orton
Triple H’s entourage was the self proclaimed ‘Evolution’ of professional wrestling. Batista, “three hundred pounds of genetic stopping power” and Randy Orton, “the coal that will be squeezed into the next diamond” as said so brilliantly by The Game himself, would become two of wrestling’s profound powerhouses. By adding the immense knowledge of The Nature Boy and Triple H’s in ring dominance, you had a faction that was virtually unstoppable.
Championships:
-
World Heavyweight Championship (6 times) Triple H (5)- Orton (1)
-
World Tag Team Championship (2 times)- Flair & Batista
-
WWE Intercontinental Championship (1time)- Orton
-
Royal Rumble Winner 2005- Batista
8: The Fabulous Freebirds: 1979-1994
Members: Michael P.S Hayes, Buddy Rogers, Terry ‘Bam Bam’ Gordy, Jimmy Garvin
There’s a lot you could say about a stable that lasted as long as The Freebirds. Hailing from Badstreet USA, their big hair, flashy attire and deep southern vibe, along with the first ever credited entrance theme ‘Freebird” by Lynard Skynard, made them a perfect fit down in the deep south with Georgia Championship Wrestling. In addition to GCW, they were favorites in heart of Texas with World Class Championship Wrestling. The Freebirds had some tremendous feuds throughout their career, including possibly one of the best of all time with The Von Erics of WCCW. I fell in love with their rock n’ roll style from the get go, even though they would take a pounding throughout their matches, they always found a way to win. The Freebirds were some of the best all around workers in the business bar none, showcasing their talents spanding six different organizations.

7: The Heenan Family WWE: 1984-1991
Members: Bobby Heenan, Adrian Adonis, The Missing Link, Ken Patera, Big John Stud, King Kong Bundy, Buddy Rose, “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, Harley Race, Andre The Giant, Ravishing Rick Rude, Ric Flair, Hercules, The Barbarian, Haku, Fatu, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, “The Red Rooster” Terry Taylor, The Brooklyn Brawler, The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard)
For the sake of argument I placed the WWE version of The Heenan Family in my countdown because they were the ones I grew up watching. Thank goodness there’s footage of the old AWA days where his stable was just as strong. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ Andre The Giant and thought, “who in the hell is going to pin this guy?”. What I mostly remember about The Heenan Family were all the great feuds they created. Whether it be Rick Rude vs The Ultimate Warrior, Haku and Andre vs Demolition, King Kong Bundy vs Hulk Hogan, Mr. Perfect vs Bret Hart, or The Brain Busters vs The Heart Foundation. Bobby Heenan knew how to generate heat and he was one of the best at it. The endless nights I would yell “Weasel!” at my TV because he was somehow always getting involved in matches. It seemed no matter who he managed, they always wound up with some type of gold around their waste.
Championships:
-
WWE Intercontinental Championship (3 times)- Mr. Perfect (2 times)- Rick Rude (1 time)
-
WWE World Tag Team Championship (3 times)- The Brain Busters (2 times)- The Colossal Connection (1 time)
-
WWE Heavyweight Championship (3 times)- Ric Flair (2 times)- Andre The Giant (1 time)
-
King of the Ring 1986- Harley Race
6: The Corporation 1998-1999
Members: Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, The Big Bossman, Triple H, Chyna, Pete Gas, Rodney, Joey Abs, The Big Show, Ken Shamrock, The Rock, Test, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Sgt. Slaughter, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson
When Vince McMahon formed the The Corporation he set out to get the biggest superstars in the business. Fully equipped with his own bodyguard The Big Bossman, and two henchman, otherwise known as ‘The Corporate Stooges’, Patterson and Brisco. He also had the commissioner Sgt. Slaughter on his payroll. This faction was ALL monster heels, Vince McMahon was catching the most heat in professional wrestling. By this time even more so than Eric Bischoff, the mouth piece for the NWO. Any babyface trying to take them on, had their share of obstacles to run through. Like Vinnie Mac used to always say, “ When I guarantee something, you can take it to the bank.”. The Rock learned the easy way at Survivor Series 1998, when he aligned himself with The Corporation, turning his back on the people to win the WWE Title thus becoming ‘The Corporate Champion’. This was some of The Rock’s best work of his career. The people despised him, chanting “Die Rocky Die” every chance they could get. I loved The Corporation, this faction would use their stroke in any means necessary to ensure they kept gold within the stable.
Championships:
-
WWE Championship (3 time)- The Rock
-
WWE European Championship (1 time)- Shane McMahon
-
WWE Hardcore Championship (1 time)- The Big Bossman
-
WWE Intercontinental Championship (1 time)- Ken Shamrock
-
WWE Tag Team Championship (1 time)- The Big Bossman & Ken Shamrock

My reason was very shallow. I’m a HUGE fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team and their color is blue, so my favorites were always blue. Leo from the Ninja Tutles was as well for that very reason.
