I will be out of town and away from my computer during most of this week. I asked that someone post this column for me because I would not be able to do it. I will not review a wrestling match this week, but I wanted to write something so I did this quick column. The topic is matches that we thought we would never see, but they really did happen. I think I got the idea for this column when I saw someone write that it’s too bad that Edge will never face Daniel Bryan because Edge is retired. Someone replied that Edge did face Bryan and it happened on RAW on September 20, 2010. There are a lot of dream matches that never happened. Andre The Giant vs. Big Show. Shawn Michaels vs. The Rock. Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart. There are also a lot of dream matches that did happen. Most people remember The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels, but there are others that you may not know about. Did you know a Triple H vs. Bret Hart match happened? Click HERE and you can watch their match. I just recently found out a Mr. Perfect vs. Shawn Michaels match happened at SummerSlam. That match is HERE. Below are 10 more dream matches that did happen.

There’s a message board thread that discusses this topic with many matches that I didn’t mention at http://www.wrestlingforum.com/classic-wrestling/838377-super-thread-matches-never-happened.html.

I have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow so I will try to watch 4/5 of these matches. I think you should do another list column of matches. Maybe 10 worst matches or top 5 or 10 let down matches etc.. Nice work!

I could do “let down matches” someday. There’s definitely a few matches I thought would be great and I was disappointed.

I LOVE this! Going to watch a few of these tonight. Can’t believe some of the match-ups that have actually happened. Great job!

Macho Man vs Liger was clearly a disappointment. Savage was obviously injured and therefore wasn’t himself. The finish seemed terribly rushed. It was great to see them in the ring together it’s just a shame that they couldn’t both be at 100%.

That Macho Man vs. Liger match is one of the reasons I made this column. I was reading a column on another site and someone mentioned this match to the owner of the site and he was shocked that he had never heard of that match.
