Hi guys, I’m here with a review of this week’s Smackdown and I’d like to start by thanking my Sky+ box for allowing me to record Smackdown and fast forward through the ads and all the Raw recaps. Matches and segments will be rated out of 5. 1= poor, 2= decent, 3= good, 4= very good and 5= great. It is as simple as that. Ok then, let’s get started.
Segment
We start this week’s Smackdown with Teddy Long in the ring. He says Vince McMahon will be on the show to give him a job evaluation. Out comes the actual Smackdown GM Booker T. Booker thanks Teddy for filling in for him. Out comes Vince McMahon. He says that only one person can be in charge of Smackdown. Vince asks Teddy what matches he would make for the show. Teddy makes Curtis Axel v Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental title. Vince then asks Booker the same question. Booker makes Alberto Del Rio v Randy Orton. Out comes Brad Maddox and he wants to be the GM of Smackdown. Maddox announces RVD will be on the show. Vince announces that the new GM of Smackdown will be Vickie Guerrero. Vickie comes out and thanks Vince and then buries the crowd and says they cost her the job of Raw GM.
Segment Rating: 2 out of 5.
Match: Jack Swagger v Dolph Ziggler
They show AJ and Big E watching from backstage. Swagger and Ziggler exchange moves early on. They end up outside the ring and when Swagger gets back into the ring, Cesaro hits Ziggler with a European Uppercut. The referee despite not seeing it then sends Cesaro and Colter to the back. Swagger puts Ziggler in the ankle lock but Ziggler counters and hits the ZigZag for the win. Ziggler cuts a short promo after the match saying that he should have dumped AJ sooner. AJ is then shown going mental backstage.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler.
Match Rating: 2 out of 5.
Match: Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns v The Usos
All four men brawl in the ring before the match can gets started. Dean Ambrose comes out to help Rollins and Reigns and beat down the Usos. Then Mark Henry comes out and he and the Usos clear the ring. The Shield retreats through the crowd.
Match: Daniel Bryan v Wade Barrett
Barrett dominates early on. He gets a near fall with a backbreaker. Bryan then makes his comeback. He hits Barrett with several kicks in the corner. He then puts him in the YesLock and Barrett taps out. I was disappointed this match was so short.
Winner: Daniel Bryan.
Match Rating: 2 out of 5.
Segment
Vickie Guerrero is talking to some guy backstage and Brad Maddox comes over. He says things have come full circle and they’re even. Vickie says they should shake on it but then she slaps him, lol.
Segment Rating: 3 out of 5.
Segment: Miz TV
Miz starts by saying he has tones of questions but since Heyman will just lie, he gives him the mic and tells him to say what he wants. Heyman starts by putting over Lesnar. Heyman says he still has love for CM Punk. Heyman offers Punk a public plea. He says Punk should stay down, go home and leave WWE and never comeback. Miz chimes in with his annoying catchphrase ‘really’. Miz says Heyman’s real self is worse than the liar. Miz then leaves. Heyman then introduces Curtis Axel. Miz and Axel have a stare down on the ramp.
Segment Rating: 3 out of 5.
Match: Curtis Axel(c) v Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship.
Axel gets Jericho in a headlock to start the match. Jericho hits a dropkick and then clotheslines Axel over the top rope and hits a baseball slide. Jericho gets a two count after a forearm off the top rope. Both men exchange moves. Jericho gets a near fall after a crossbody. Axel gets a near fall after countering the codebreaker as they go to commercial. Axel is in control as they comeback from commercial. Jericho makes his comeback and both men exchange near falls. Jericho gets Axel in the Walls of Jericho after a struggle. Axel eventually makes it to the ropes. Both men end up outside the ring. Jericho drives Axel’s head into the announce table. Jericho puts Axel back into the ring and as he is getting into the ring, he gets distracted by Heyman. Axel hits a boot to the head and a face plant for the win. After the match, Ryback comes out. He stands over Jericho for a few moments. He then picks Jericho up. Jericho tries to fight back but Ryback hits a clothesline and the ShellShock.
Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: Curtis Axel.
Match Rating: 4 out of 5.
Segment:
Damien Sandow is in the ring to cut a promo. Sandow says it was everyman for himself on Sunday at Money in the Bank and he did not screw Cody Rhodes. Sandow asks why Rhodes attacked him on Raw. Sandow says he will not react to this and then buries the crowd. Sandow says he and Rhodes are still best friends. Sandow asks Rhodes to come out to the ring and Rhodes comes out. Sandow tells Rhodes that he forgives him. Sandow tells Rhodes that he can be the protector of the case until whatever time Sandow decides to cash in. Sandow hands Rhodes the briefcase. Rhodes then hits Sandow with the briefcase and continues to attack him. Sandow manages to escapes.
Segment Rating: 4 out of 5.
Match: Rob Van Dam v Darren Young
RVD hits some of hits his signature moves early on. RVD goes for rolling thunder but gets distracted but Titus O’Neil and Young takes advantage and takes control of the match. RVD makes his comeback and hits the 5 star frog splash for the win.
Winner: Rob Van Dam.
Match Rating: 2 out of 5.
Segment:
Vickie Guerrero is backstage talking on the phone and Teddy Long comes in. Vickie tells Teddy they should let bygones be bygones. Teddy asks Vickie does she really mean that. She screams hell no and gets security.
Segment Rating: 2 out of 5.
Match: Alberto Del Rio v Randy Orton
Orton takes control early on but ADR gets Orton in the crossarm breaker over the ropes followed by throwing him into the ring post followed by a few kicks to the arm. ADR works the arm for most of the match. ADR goes to the top rope and comes off but gets hit with a dropkick. Orton tries to make a comeback but ADR gets him in the crossarm breaker but Orton makes it to the ropes. Orton does make his comeback after a backbreaker and then he gets a near fall after a scoopslam. Orton goes for a RKO but ADR counters and hits the backstabber for a near fall. ADR goes for the crossarm breaker again but Orton counters. ADR then goes for a kick but Orton counters again and hits a RKO for the win.
Winner: Randy Orton.
Match Rating: 3 out of 5.

Didn’t see Smackdown yet. Looks like other than Jericho-Axel, it’s a skippable show. Any other good matches?
